Terms of Use
Last updated October 12, 2026 · Effective October 12, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Kyu Mok Kim, operating as Odyssia ("we", "us") about using Odyssia: the mobile app, this website, and the services behind them. By creating an account or using Odyssia, you agree to these terms, our Privacy Policy and our Community Guidelines. If you don't agree, don't use Odyssia.
1. Who can use Odyssia
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you're under the age of majority where you live, you need a parent's or guardian's permission. You can't use Odyssia if we've previously banned you, or if the law doesn't allow you to.
2. Your account
- Give a real email address you can access, and keep your password to yourself.
- You're responsible for what happens on your account. Tell us at [email protected] if you think someone else is using it.
- Your username must not impersonate anyone or mislead people. We may change or reclaim a username that breaks these terms.
- One person per account. Don't sell, transfer or share accounts.
3. Your content
"Your content" is what you add to Odyssia: trips, stops, notes, pins, day names, comments, your profile, and reports.
- You own your content. You're responsible for it and must have the right to post it.
- Licence to us. So we can run Odyssia, you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, copy, process, display and transmit your content, only to operate, provide and improve Odyssia. For public content, this includes showing it to other people and to people who aren't logged in. The licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies we keep as described in our Privacy Policy, such as reports.
- Public by default. New trips are public: anyone, including people without an account, can see them along with their stops, likes and comments. Your profile, and who you follow and who follows you, are always public. You can make a trip private at any time.
- Collaborators. If you invite someone to collaborate on a trip and they accept, they can see it even when it's private. If you let collaborators edit, they can change its stops and days. Stops a collaborator adds become part of your trip.
4. Acceptable use
Follow our Community Guidelines. In particular, don't:
- harass, threaten, bully or hate on anyone, or post sexual, violent or illegal content;
- post spam, scams or misleading information;
- impersonate someone, or share other people's private information without their permission;
- post content you don't have the right to share;
- break the law, or help someone else do so;
- try to access accounts, data or systems you're not allowed to, probe or bypass our security or limits, or disrupt the service;
- scrape, copy in bulk, or use automated means to access Odyssia, except as we allow;
- copy, resell or reverse-engineer the app, or use it to build a competing service.
5. Reporting, blocking and moderation
- You can report a trip, comment or profile, and block people, from the app. See the Community Guidelines for how.
- We review reports and aim to act on them within 24 hours. We may remove content, limit features, or suspend or delete accounts that break these terms or our guidelines, or that put people at risk, with or without notice.
- Some words aren't allowed in comments, trip titles and descriptions, usernames, display names and bios, and the app will tell you when it finds one.
- We're not obliged to monitor everything posted, and we're not responsible for what other people post. If you think we got a decision wrong, contact [email protected].
6. Ending your account
You can stop using Odyssia and delete your account at any time (here's how). We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, if we're required to by law, or if we stop offering Odyssia. Where reasonable, we'll tell you why and give you notice. Sections 3 (the parts about copies we keep), 8, 9, 10 and 11 continue after your account ends.
7. Maps and other third-party services
Odyssia's maps, place search, place details and travel times are provided by Google Maps Platform. Your use of these features is subject to the Google Maps/Google Earth Additional Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy. Place information shown in Odyssia, such as names and addresses, belongs to Google and its providers.
Links to other websites, and places or businesses shown in Odyssia, aren't controlled or endorsed by us.
8. Travel information
Odyssia is a planning tool. Trips, notes and comments are written by other users, and maps, places, opening hours and travel times come from third parties. Any of it may be incomplete, out of date or wrong. Check opening hours, prices, transport, entry rules, travel advisories and safety yourself before you rely on them. You're responsible for your own travel decisions and safety.
9. No warranty
Odyssia is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties, express or implied, including that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, or that information in it is accurate. Content can be lost, so keep your own copy of anything you can't afford to lose. Some places don't allow these exclusions, so some may not apply to you.
10. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits or opportunities, arising from your use of Odyssia, from content posted by others, or from third-party services, even if we were told they were possible. Our total liability for any claim about Odyssia is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and (b) CAD $100. Odyssia is currently free. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.
11. Your responsibility to us
If someone makes a claim against us because of your content or because you broke these terms, you'll cover our reasonable costs of dealing with it, to the extent the law allows.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Disputes will be heard in the courts of Ontario, Canada, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring them there.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change is significant, we'll let you know before it takes effect, for example by email. If you keep using Odyssia after that, you accept the new terms. If you don't, you can delete your account.
14. General
These terms, the Privacy Policy and the Community Guidelines are the whole agreement between us about Odyssia. If part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce a term right away, we can still enforce it later. You can't transfer these terms. We can transfer them as part of a sale or reorganization of our business.
